He is serious, strict and stubborn in some aspects. However, he definitely cares about his family and is willing to sacrifice for the good sake of the family. In this interview with Philip Foo, he opens up his heart about his life.
Tody, even after he is married with 2 children, Foo swept the floor daily and mopped the house weekly. Foo said that it does not bother him doing these chores, although his friends tease him about it.
"It does not makes me less "man" by doing house chores."
In fact, because of his love towards his family, he would not bother the view of other people.
Foo was born in Sungai Siput, a small town which is famous for its rubber plantation during the 60's. He is also the eldest son in the family which forces him to take care of his 3 siblings since he is young. Philip comes from a ordinary family while his father works as a mechanic while his mother is a rubber cutter. He had learned to manage house chores such as cooking and washing clothes since he did not even go to primary school.
"I found that this childhood experience has made me used to doing house chores with initiative."
There was a period that Foo was working in other states when jos children were growing up. He travelled back home to reunite with his family every weekend and travelled back to work at the end of the weekend.
"I would not want to miss the moment of the growing of my children.", he said. "Also, I feel guilty about leaving my wife to take care of the children by herself when I am not around."
"For me, family is my motivation in my life." Foo said with a warm smile, with his usual serious expression fading away.
